Offices of the DeKalb County Solicitor-General & Superior Court Clerk Collecting Hygiene Items for Youth in Foster Care

Donations to be Made in Recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

DECATUR, GA –The Office of the DeKalb County Solicitor-General is partnering with the Office of the Superior Court Clerk to collect toiletries to donate to the youth of CHRIS 180, Inc. (formerly CHRIS Kids), through the month of March. CHRIS 180 is a DeKalb County non-profit organization that supports abused children in foster care by providing counseling, shelter, adoption services, and a transitioning program for youth who have aged out of the foster system.

On April 4, 2017, in recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, Solicitor-General Donna Coleman-Stribling will work with community volunteers to assemble the hygiene gift packs that go into “Welcome Kits” that CHRIS 180 provides to youth when they first arrive.  We want to provide them with the toiletries that are essential but often overlooked.

Our target group are ages 14 to 24 who live at the CHRIS 180 facilities here in DeKalb County. By helping to impact these young people, we are taking a step toward giving them a better future.

Items needed include:

  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Soap
  • Lotion
  • Mouthwash
  • Deodorant
  • Combs
  • Hair brushes
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Bath Sponges
  • Emery Boards

Collection baskets are located throughout the DeKalb County Courthouse. Donations will be accepted through March 31.

Join the Office of the DeKalb County Solicitor-General in helping to make a difference in the lives of these young people.
