Office Overview Summary
The DeKalb County Solicitor-General's office, under the direction of Sherry Boston, prosecutes misdemeanor crimes committed in DeKalb County. These crimes can include domestic violence, elder abuse, cruelty to children, vehicular homicide, drunk driving, harassment and stalking, trespassing, and animal cruelty. At the Solicitor General’s Office, Ms. Boston oversees more than 12,000 cases annually, as well as supervises a staff of attorneys, investigators, victim and witness advocates, community prosecutor, legal secretaries, and public information officer. Ms. Boston is recognized for working diligently to make DeKalb County even safer by preventing and deterring criminal activity through the professional and impartial prosecution of crimes. She remains committed to upholding the laws and statutes of Georgia and DeKalb County, while working closely with our police and communities to develop strategies to prevent crimes before they occur. From I-75 South
Exit 249 D towards US78 / Ga. Tech / North Ave. Merge onto Williams St. NW. Turn left on North Ave. and go .5 mile. Turn left on Piedmont, and go .1 mile. Turn right on Ponce de Leon, and go 4.5 miles. Turn right on Commerce, and left on W. Trinity Pl. Courthouse will be on left.
From I-20 West
Take Exit #65/Candler Rd. towards Decatur. Keep right at fork in ramp, and turn right on Candler Rd., going three miles until road becomes S. Candler St. Turn left on E. Trinity Pl. Courthouse will be on right.
From I-20 East
Take Exit #61A / Maynard Terrace towards Atlanta, and turn left on Maynard Terrace, SE. Turn right on Memorial Dr. and travel 2.3 miles. Turn left on Candler Rd., and follow directions from I-20 West, starting at Candler Rd.
From I-75 North, I-85 North, and South
Take I-285 towards Decatur and follow below.
From I-285
Take Exit #39A towards Decatur. Merge onto Stone Mountain parkway which becomes US-29. Turn left on Clairemont, and go .7 mile. Turn left on Commerce. Turn right on Church St. Turn right on E. Trinity Pl., and courthouse will be on right. |
